Does This Test Really Determine If I’m Gay or Not?
This quiz cannot definitively determine your sexual orientation for you. Only you can decide how you identify. You’re not obliged by anyone or any test to label yourself in any particular way, especially in ways that make you uncomfortable.
Please remember that labelings are merely tools to help you understand your identity and can even aid others in understanding who you are.
Sexual orientation is also more fluid and nuanced than what this quiz can fully capture. If you're questioning your sexual orientation, we highly recommend you use open-source LGBTQIA+ resources, which can help you better understand the terminologies and the different shades of sexual orientation.
This quiz lets you see if you may exhibit tendencies that align with various sexual orientations.
Are There Any Other Results?
Yes! You don’t necessarily have to be 100% gay.
Instead, our quiz can also show if you’re bisexual (attracted to both genders) or of any other orientation, such as pansexual (attracted to people in general, regardless of their gender) or demisexual (attracted to people only after establishing a close emotional bond with them, regardless of their gender.)
Just like gender, romantic and sexual attractions exist on a spectrum with various shades and colors in between. Our “Am I Gay quiz” is also designed to show this.
We don’t display results for asexual or aromantic individuals (people who don’t experience any sexual urge for any gender) — these people are part of a different category that requires a separate test.
How Are the Results Stored?
Your privacy is respected here, and we are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your personal data.
We do not store your personal data because what you share with us is extremely sensitive. The information you provide and the results you receive are completely yours and yours alone.
How you handle your data is completely your decision.
Feel free to screenshot and share your test results with your trusted confidantes if you wish!
What to Do After I Get My Result?
No matter how you end up labeling yourself (or not), do understand that you’ll find acceptance and help in various communities and groups that can be found both where you live and online.
If you find yourself aligning with the idea that you may be gay, then finding a community that embraces and supports you is essential. This is especially crucial if you live in an environment where acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community may be limited.
Start searching for support groups and online forums. There are many on social media and forums like Reddit.
There are also many non-profit organizations that specialize in providing support and care for gay people. They can be a wonderful way to learn, feel encouraged, and connect with like-minded individuals.
Such support groups — no matter their form — offer a safe space to meet people who have gone through similar experiences. Here, you’ll be offered opportunities to connect with others who truly understand what you're going through and can provide empathy and encouragement.
It’s not rare for people in these groups to forge lifelong friendships and find mentors who can guide them on their path!
You may even find chat rooms on platforms like Discord, which can support you through the initial acceptance phase (which can be hard for some people) and beyond. Such chat rooms allow you to talk with people from different parts of the world who may be experiencing similar emotions and challenges.
Knowing that you're not alone and that others share their stories can be incredibly empowering!
